La performance participative “Bureau de Rachat”, initialement conçue en partenariat avec une organisation solidaire, a été modifiée et est maintenant désignée comme "Bureau de je ne sais quoi”. Un projet qui traite de la censure et de l’engagement artistique.

« Comment s’adapter à une situation de crise lorsqu’un projet artistique solidaire, conçu autour d'appuis associatifs, tourne au procès d’intention moral ? 

Le Bureau de Rachat – projet mort né – renaît de ses cendres. Il s’agit de couvrir les termes responsables de l’échec de cette initiative dans laquelle nous étions pleinement engagés et de les recouvrir par des mots qui donnent un second souffle à ce projet.

Le Bureau de Rachat se transforme ainsi en Bureau de je ne sais quoi au profit de presque rien. La référence à Jankélévitch nous rattache ainsi à une pensée du temps irréversible, où ce qui est révolu est révolu. Ce qui se joue pour chaque personne est ce qui se déploie devant elle, la dimension sur laquelle elle peut agir, son chemin de liberté. 

L’acte de Rachat, cette invitation au don que nous lancions dans le quartier du Marais sera finalement un acte de je ne sais quoi, en réponse à cette situation de dernière minute à laquelle je dois faire face et réagir.

Et si cette nouvelle nomination permettait de conserver la possibilité d’un passage à l’acte ? Un acte pas vraiment nommable, pas vraiment définissable, au profit d’un inattendu, d’une action à saisir, qui se produira à partir du 25 juin, comme convenu.

“How do you adapt to a crisis situation when a solidarity-based artistic project, conceived around associative support, turns into a moral trial of intent? 

Le Bureau de Rachat - a stillborn project - rises from the ashes. It's a question of covering up the terms responsible for the failure of this initiative, to which we were fully committed, and covering them with words that breathe new life into the project.

The Bureau de Rachat thus becomes the Bureau de je ne sais quoi for the benefit of almost nothing. The reference to Jankélévitch thus links us to a way of thinking about irreversible time, where what's gone is gone. What's at stake for each person is what unfolds before them, the dimension they can act upon, their path to freedom. 

The act of Rachat, this invitation to give that we were launching in the Marais district, will ultimately be an act of I don't know what, in response to this last-minute situation I have to face and react to.

And what if this new name kept alive the possibility of an act? An act that can't really be named, can't really be defined, in favor of the unexpected, an action to be seized, which will take place from June 25, as agreed.

J’aime son contact, sa chaleur, son odeur, son souffle, sa présence … Qu’est ce qui, sans le voir, me permet de sentir une attirance vis à vis de quelqu’un, me donne l’envie d’entrer en relation avec lui, de répondre à son approche vers moi, d’établir un dialogue de corps à corps sans se parler ?

SR LABO présente une performance participative dans laquelle deux personnes volontaires vont se rencontrer et échanger sans passer par le visuel ni le langage verbal mais simplement par le son et le toucher. Pour cela nous avons conçu deux masques rituels inspirés du chamanisme (clochettes et  grelot, rubans coloré et pompons) – l’un blanc l’autre noir -  empêchant de voir mais laissant passer une lumière jaune ou orangée. Chaque participant porte  un masque et est également muni d’une maraca (attribut traditionnel du chamane considéré comme un objet médiateur qu’il utilise comme lieu de la manifestation des esprits) pour se signaler et repérer son partenaire. Réunis dans ce même espace, chacun va partir à la rencontre de l’autre  renouvelant les signaux sonores,  les tentatives de rapprochement,  et de contacts physiques à tâtons.

l’expérience s’arrête quand l’un des deux retire le masque.

I like their touch, their warmth, their smell, their breath, their presence... What is it, without seeing it, that allows me to feel an attraction towards someone, that makes me want to enter into a relationship with them, to respond to their approach towards me, to establish a body-to-body dialogue without speaking to each other?

SR LABO presents a participatory performance in which two volunteers meet and exchange ideas without using visuals or verbal language, but simply through sound and touch. To achieve this, we've designed two ritual masks inspired by shamanism (bells and bells, colored ribbons and pom-poms) - one white, the other black - preventing vision but allowing yellow or orange light to pass through. Each participant wears a mask and is also equipped with a maraca (a traditional shaman's attribute regarded as a mediating object which he uses as a place for the manifestation of spirits) to signal himself and his partner. Gathered together in the same space, each person sets off to meet the other, repeating the sound signals, the attempts to get closer, and the groping for physical contact.

The experiment ends when one of the two removes the mask.

YLLLI est un mural de practice qui apporte un bien être total ;  physique et mental par l’exercice du relâchement et de l’extension. Ce mural est à la disposition du visiteur de l’espace Le cœur. Chacun est invité à faire l’expérience des instruments crées par les soins de ShR labo, mis à sa disposition pour sa détente et son élévation. 

Inspiré du Yoga mural et de pratique de stretchting, ce mural propose un espace de performance où il s’agit - en ayant connaissance de la nature de chaque instrument  et de ses modalités  - de pouvoir s’approprier et inventer sa façon de se détendre à l’aide de ces instruments.

Chaque pièce proposée par SR Labo est une sculpture au repos qui s’active lorsque le corps du spectateur entre en contact avec elle. les modalités de la relation sont en partie proposé par le Dr Roshem qui permet à chacun d’imaginer, d’inventer son utilisation en fonction d’une écoute de son corps et de son besoin.

2 extension /étirement/ renversement/ tonicité / ouverture / défier les lois de l’apesanteur.

YLLLI is a practice mural that brings total physical and mental well-being through the exercise of relaxation and extension. The mural is available to visitors to Le Coeur. Everyone is invited to experience the instruments created by ShR labo, available for relaxation and upliftment. 

Inspired by Yoga mural and stretchting practice, this mural offers a performance space in which - with knowledge of the nature of each instrument and its modalities - you can appropriate and invent your own way of relaxing using these instruments.

Each piece proposed by SR Labo is a sculpture at rest, which is activated when the spectator's body comes into contact with it. The modalities of the relationship are partly proposed by Dr. Roshem, who allows each participant to imagine and invent his or her own use of the instruments, based on listening to his or her own body and needs.  

1 alignment / holding / centering / standing up straight / postural posture

2 extension / stretching / inversion / toning / opening / defying the laws of weightlessness.

3 relaxation/ loosening/ fetal-coconical posture/ withdrawal/ relaxation/ feeling contained/ supported

SR Labo présente M.A.P, Quatre masques confectionnés en peau faisant office de masques protecteurs  anti pollution. Présentés chacun dans des vitrines ces masques prennent la fonction de masques archaïques, détenteur d’un pouvoir de protection qui peuvent agir, par leur fonctions - magiques et rituelles - plus efficacement que les masques actuels que l’on porte dans la ville pour se préserver de l’air vicié ambiant.  
Il s’agit ici d’invoquer le pouvoir des masques - aujourd’hui pétrifiés dans leur statut de pièce de musée  - et de ne pas oublier leur fonction ; celle de faire corps avec celui qui le porte. Ces accessoires transcendent alors leur seule valeur figurative de masque  au bénéfice de l’intention protectrice qu’ils véhiculent.

Comme le dit Christiane Falgayrettes-Leveau dans Masques (catalogue de l’exposition Masques au musée Dapper, 1995) : « Mais qu’importe, le masque protège celui qui oublie son propre visage pour devenir autre. Il l’accompagne aux limites de la vie et du surnaturel, pour mettre face à face les dieux, les génies et les hommes ».

SR Labo presents M.A.P., four masks made from skin to protect against pollution. Presented in showcases, these masks take on the function of archaic masks, possessing a protective power that can act, by virtue of their functions - magical and ritual - more effectively than the current masks we wear in the city to protect ourselves from polluted ambient air.  

The point here is to invoke the power of masks - now petrified in their status as museum pieces - and not to forget their function: to become one with the wearer. These accessories transcend their mere figurative value as masks in favor of the protective intent they convey.

As Christiane Falgayrettes-Leveau says in Masques (catalog of the Masques exhibition at the Musée Dapper, 1995): “But never mind, the mask protects those who forget their own face in order to become someone else. It accompanies him to the limits of life and the supernatural, to bring gods, genies and men face to face”.

Colloque organisé par Caroline Ibos, Sarah Roshem et Barbara Formis.e.motion a été activé avec la participation de Adeline Diouf, Caroline Ibos, Patricia Paperman, Manuela Centrone, Odila Caminos, 

e-motion est une performance participative dans laquelle SR Labo propose aux participants de partager le souvenir d’une émotion esthétique. e-motion s’inspire d’un protocole conçu par Elisabeth Kubler Ross pour un accompagnement au deuil dans un groupe de soutien mutuel : la confiance accordée au groupe, sa qualité d’écoute silencieuse, le cadre contenant et la confidentialité donne à chacun l’assurance de pouvoir parler de ce sujet intime et se sentir libre et engagé dans cette expérience esthétique du care.

e-motion is a participatory performance in which SR Labo invites participants to share the memory of an aesthetic emotion. e-motion is inspired by a protocol devised by Elisabeth Kubler Ross for bereavement support in a mutual support group: the trust placed in the group, its quality of silent listening, the containing framework and confidentiality give everyone the assurance of being able to talk about this intimate subject and feel free and engaged in this aesthetic experience of care.
