Etre SOLIDAIRE c’est s’associer aux autres, être SOLITAIRE c’est s'éloigner des autres. En langue française la différence entre ces deux mots se joue à une lettre. La posture de l'artiste peut osciller entre les deux : une volonté d'être solitaire et un besoin aussi d'être solitaire. 

SR LABO présente une courte vidéo textuelle et sonore durant laquelle les lettres du mot SOLIDAIRE et du mot SOLITAIRE apparaissent associées à un son synthétique : ces deux mots ont en commun beaucoup de lettres et se distinguent en leur milieu par les lettres D et T. Dans cette vidéo, le tempo synchronisé et régulier de chaque lettre/son donne un effet de répétition  durable. Cependant, une perturbation à la lettre T/D va générer un dérèglement du passage d’un mot à l’autre. Le risque de confusion, de perte de sens et de la portée des mots es bien présent  …Une métaphore technologique de la fragilité de ce concept bienveillant de Solidarité.

No news of public funding. Every Solidaire artist contributes to the running of Les Salaisons.

To be SOLIDAIRE is to associate with others, to be SOLITAIRE is to distance oneself from others. In French, the difference between these two words is one letter. The artist's posture can oscillate between the two: a desire to be solitary and a need to be solitary. 

SR LABO presents a short text and sound video in which the letters of the words SOLIDAIRE and SOLITAIRE appear together with a synthetic sound: these two words have many letters in common, and are distinguished in the middle by the letters D and T. In this video, the regular, synchronized tempo of each letter/sound creates a lasting effect of repetition. However, a disturbance at the letter T/D will disrupt the transition from one word to the next. The risk of confusion, loss of meaning and the scope of the words are all too present...A technological metaphor for the fragility of this benevolent concept of Solidarity.

Pour la Vitrine am SR Labo propose d'habiller des volontaires performeurs d'un t-shirt SR Labo lors du vernissage. Il sera aussi présenté dans la vitrine eten vente ( art & &économie !). le T-shirt reprend le slogan de SR Labo : Takes care of you (avec le logo SR Labo en copy right). Porté sur soi, il devient alors une phrase générique qui peut engager le dialogue ainsi: « Who takes care ?» qui prend soin de vous? toi qui est devant moi ? Chacun est alors en mesure de questionner le porteur du T-shirt « who cares about me. Don’t you ? » qui me prête attention ? Le voulezvous ? « would you take care of me ? » voulez-vous faire attention à moi ? Il s’agit alors pour le porteur du T-shirt d’adopter une attitude bienveillante, adaptée à sa désignation : il devient « a caring person », « a person who cares ».

For the Vitrine am SR Labo will be dressing volunteer performers in an SR Labo t-shirt at the opening. The T-shirt features the SR Labo slogan: Takes care of you (with the SR Labo logo in copy right). Worn on the body, it becomes a generic phrase that can be used to initiate a dialogue: “Who takes care of you? Everyone is then in a position to ask the T-shirt wearer “who cares about me. Don't you?” who pays attention to me? Do you want to? “would you take care of me? The T-shirt wearer then adopts a benevolent attitude, adapted to his or her designation: he or she becomes “a caring person”, “a person who cares”.

Hmmm est un rectangle de peau, à la dimension du dos de l’artiste qui l’a porté pendant une période de 3 semaines, jusqu’à l’arrivée du printemps 2011. La peau naturelle est souple ; elle prend les émanations (transpiration, parfum, chaleur) et les plis du corps, elle conserve aussi des cellules mortes de la peau, des traces d’adn même. Par contact, cette peau de substitution s’imprègne et s’imprime du vécu temporel et physiologique de l’artiste, de son odeur, et devient comme une empreinte, un dessin exact et intime.

Enlevée après usage, comme une mue, cette peau est exposée à la verticale. La personne qui achètera cette peau aura le droit de se l’approprier comme on le fait d’un palimpseste.

Crée en 2011 pour être porté, Hmmm devait être présenté au salon Drawing Now au titre d’un dessin portant les traces du vécu et  les traces d’ADN de son porteur. Resté dans la réserve cette peau n’a pas été montrée par la galerie Van der Stegen. 

En 2013, dans le cadre de l’exposition Contamina©tion nous avons réactivé cette peau en la portant tous les jours durant 3 semaines. Accrochée à l’aide de chaine, SR Labo expose Hmmm dans sa version actuelle dans une installation qui comprend un poster photographique publicitaire au format 76 x101 cm de la peau portée et un cartel format 13 x 17 cm tiré à 30 exemplaires présentant une explication de l’œuvre écrite sous le format d’une table de Snellen permettant au spectateur de se familiariser avec cette méthode et d’en faire l’exercice pour améliorer sa vue. L’action de la lecture devient une autre forme de contamina©tion  par le regard.

Hmmm is a rectangle of skin, the size of the artist's back, which she wore for a period of 3 weeks, until the arrival of spring 2011. Natural skin is supple; it takes on the emanations (perspiration, perfume, heat) and folds of the body; it also retains dead skin cells, even traces of DNA. Through contact, this substitute skin becomes impregnated and imprinted with the artist's temporal and physiological experience, with his or her scent, and becomes like an imprint, an exact, intimate drawing.

Removed after use, like a moult, this skin is displayed vertically. Whoever buys this skin will have the right to make it their own, like a palimpsest.

Created in 2011 to be worn, Hmmm was to be presented at Drawing Now as a drawing bearing traces of the wearer's life and DNA. Kept in reserve, this skin was not shown by the Van der Stegen gallery. 

In 2013, as part of the exhibition Contamina©tion, we reactivated this skin by wearing it every day for 3 weeks. Hanging on a chain, SR Labo exhibits Hmmm in its current version in an installation that includes a 76 x101 cm advertising photo poster of the worn skin and a 13 x 17 cm cartel printed in a run of 30 copies, presenting an explanation of the work written in the format of a Snellen table, enabling viewers to familiarize themselves with this method and exercise it to improve their eyesight. The action of reading becomes another form of visual contamina©tion.

 SR Labo présente : CCPT (Cire colorée pour tous ) / 

02 2013  / projet pour le siège Social du Crédit Coopératif /  NOT ACHIEVED

avec la participation de Marie Baloup,  Ingrid Livington, Arnaud Duval, Yannick Audrain, Hélène Singer, Alain Chouckroun, Gaël Villeroux,

un projet innovant d’atelier de Cire Coloré Pour Tous. Il s’agit avec CCPT de participer individuellement ou à plusieurs à l’élaboration d’une sculpture en cire pour un espace de vie et de travail, en vue de sa réalisation future. Agents et usagers du lieu conçoivent et réalisent en atelier, la maquette de ce projet : les besoins, les désirs, les enjeux de chacun, sont ainsi exprimés. L’atelier CCPT donne ainsi les moyens aux individus de concrétiser ensemble les attentes et les espoirs de ce lieu de circulation et de partage. 

L’atelier CCPT s’adapte aux situations rencontrées sur le terrain. L’étude de la structure d’accueil, de son personnel et des actions qu’elle mène permet de définir la proposition que nous allons faire : création individuelle, en binôme ou en groupe, nous proposons une configuration en fonction de chaque situation de terrain. 

la maquette sera ensuite réalisée à l’échelle et avec des matériaux pérennes.

With CCPT, individuals or groups can participate in the creation of a wax sculpture for a living or working space, with a view to its future realization. Employees and users of the space design and create the model of the project in the workshop, expressing their needs, desires and challenges. In this way, the CCPT workshop gives individuals the means to realize together their expectations and hopes for this place of circulation and sharing. 

The CCPT workshop adapts to situations encountered in the field. A study of the host structure, its staff and the actions it undertakes enables us to define the proposal we are going to make: individual creation, in pairs or in groups, we propose a configuration according to each field situation. 

The model will then be built to scale, using durable materials.

CCPT is the project we are proposing for Crédit Coopératif's head office.

Ne meurt réellement  

Que celui qu’on oublie… 

Ceux qui nous quittent persistent en nous. Une pensée pour eux revient à les faire survivre. 

SR Labo présente dans le cadre de son programme SR Memo - programme pour la sauvegarde et l’activation de la mémoire des êtres et des lieux -  un nouvel outil poétique et pratique à la disposition du public et  à la portée de tous, qui permettrait de pouvoir activer la présence virtuelle de ces morts qui continuent à occuper une place dans nos vies.

STILLIGHT est le projet d’une plate-forme sur smartphone qui permette de visualiser le mort comme un point lumineux au sein d’une constellation d’autres morts, et d’activer, grâce à l’application STILLIGHT, sa puissance luminescente par un simple clic lorsque l’on pense à lui. 

Consultable et utilisable 24H /24H, STILLIGHT est une plateforme simple à l’usage de toutes les générations.

Une fois le disparu inscrit et les utilisateurs enregistrés l’étape suivante consiste à activer cette virtualité du mort dès lors que notre esprit le convoque : La caractéristique du point lumineux (intensité, rayonnement, positionnement,…) dépend de la fréquence et du nombre de personnes qui activent le lien. Ce point apparaît parmi tous les autres points lumineux sur un fond d’écran bleu noir. 

L’intensité lumineuse et son rayonnement relatif est activé dans l’immédiateté du clic. Dans un court terme, le nombre de personnes agit à amplifier la puissance  lumineuse : petit point à faible luminescence, celui-ci devient une tache de lumière à fortes radiations en quantifiant les clics. Mais qu’en est-il dans la durée ? Les points lumineux seront-il toujours aussi brillants après quelques années ? Existeront-ils toujours où passeront-il au nième plan de cette plateforme ; palimpseste de nos mémoires affectives et symboliques.  

Grâce à STILLIGHT les personnes qui ont compté pour nous, familière ou célèbre,  ont un territoire concret et visible. 

Support individuel et collectif pour restaurer une présence qui manque, STILLIGHT est dans la durée un outil qui montre que les disparus habitent encore les lieux. Il suffit pour cela au vivant de réactiver et entretenir leur souvenir.

Only the forgotten... 

Those who leave us live on in us. A thought for them is like keeping them alive. 

As part of its SR Memo program - a program for safeguarding and activating the memory of people and places - SR Labo is presenting a new poetic and practical tool available to the public and within everyone's reach, which would enable us to activate the virtual presence of those dead who continue to occupy a place in our lives.

STILLIGHT is the project for a smartphone platform that lets you visualize the dead as a point of light within a constellation of other dead, and activate their luminescent power with a simple click when you think of them, thanks to the STILLIGHT application. 

Consultable and usable 24 hours a day, STILLIGHT is a simple platform for use by all generations.

Once the missing person has been registered and the users have registered, the next step is to activate the virtuality of the dead person as soon as our mind summons him or her: the characteristics of the point of light (intensity, radiation, positioning, etc.) depend on the frequency and number of people who activate the link. This point appears among all the other luminous points on a blue-black background. 

Light intensity and its relative radiation are activated in the immediacy of the click. In the short term, the number of people amplifies the luminous power: a small point with low luminescence becomes a spot of light with high radiation, quantifying the number of clicks. But what about over time? Will the spots of light still be as bright after a few years? Will they still exist, or will they fade into the background of this platform, a palimpsest of our emotional and symbolic memories?  

Thanks to STILLIGHT, the people who have meant something to us, whether familiar or famous, have a concrete, visible territory. 

As an individual and collective support for restoring a missing presence, STILLIGHT is a long-term tool that shows that the departed still inhabit the place. All the living need do is reactivate and maintain their memory.

Cette lanterne utilise la phosphorescence comme énergie écologique. Son éclairage de faible puissance  permet de maintenir en éveil  la pensée – voire d’entrer en méditation.

Descriptif :

Suspendu au plafond ou posée sur un meuble elle s’adapte à votre habitat et à votre usage.  

Une fois chargée durant la journée, elle s’utilise la nuit pendant une durée relative.

L’apparence de cette lanterne est décorative.  Sa forme rassurante d’icosaèdre renferme une précieuse et délicate source luminescente cristalline.

Concentrez vous sur cette forme et ce qu’elle renferme. Contemplez-la longuement.
